Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata – in the heart of Ålesund

Experience a Via Ferrata route starting from Byparken and leading up to City mountain Aksla, offering spectacular views over the city of Ålesund. The ascent starts just below the Fjellstua viewpoint, with the return route following the city’s iconic steps back down to the center.

Ålesund Via Ferrata offers an experience out of the ordinary.
Located in the heart of the city, Byparken and Mount Aksla provide the perfect setting for this unique adventure. The south face of Aksla features solid granite and offers spectacular views of the city, the ocean, and the Sunnmøre Alps to the south.

You can rent equipment and climb to the top of Aksla on your own or join a guided tour. Throughout the summer, two guides are on site daily to provide equipment rentals and ensure safety along the route.

Ålesund Via Ferrata is rated A+. It is an easy ferrata, but with an airy feel and impressive views of the city below. Midway up the wall, you’ll find a “sofa” where you and your companions can take a break and enjoy the scenery.
